Juniper Turns One

by jordanfaeh

junebirthday4   We celebrated our sweet Juniper’s first birthday over the weekend.

Juniper Grace. June. June-bug. Jay-bird. Birdie. Your soft and sweet spirit has developed into a feisty and curious one. You made the transition from one to two children pretty smooth with your easy-going personality (that you got completely from your father) and as you get older and show a little of that mom-given strong will and determination we see that you fit perfectly into our family and we are so thankful for you.

junebirthday9IMG_9066I wanted to make June’s birthday special while being mindful of a budget and utilizing decorations I already had in storage. Because we were having a more intimate party with just family, I also wanted to invest in high quality dessert from one of my favorite local bakers, Goldenrod Pastries. I think it’s important to support local businesses anytime you have the opportunity to do so and Angela definitely did not disappoint! I ordered an apple spice cake and little pumpkin hearts that were TO DIE for. I’m not even kidding, I ate 5 in one day. #noshame

I added yarn tassels to the ends of the balloons and garland to give it a fun bohemian vibe. A colorful and cheap way to spice up the decor!

June was sporting the new design of another favorite local artisan, Belle and the Bear shoes and a beautiful dress that Penny wore as a flower girl for my sister’s wedding a few years ago.

junebirthday6It was a special day to re-live fond (and somewhat painful) memories of labor and delivery and the first year as a family of four. Through trials and joys we have found our groove and I’m SO looking forward to this next year as June starts to walk and talk and interact with her sister more.

Miss Juniper Grace, life is sweeter with you in it.

junebirthday3Cheers.
